“Zoey was a crucial part of our transition from a family of 3 to a family of 4. With a toddler at home and no family or support system nearby, we were a bundle of nerves trying to figure out how to navigate a birth at the hospital while ensuring our toddler was properly cared for. Our nerves were quickly calmed after meeting Zoey. She put us at ease right away and our 21 month old loved her from the start. Zoey took exceptional care of our daughter for several days while we were in the hospital, even bringing her to a Mommy and Me Gymnastics Class and buying crafts for her to play with while running errands. We also hired Zoey as a postpartum doula after we came home from the hospital and having the extra set of hands as well as her expertise is the only reason we made it through the first week. Zoey helped with both kids, ensuring our older daughter was stimulated and felt special during this time of change, rocking the new baby so we could get some much needed sleep, helping with housework, and acting as another set of hands to keep things running smoothly. “Zoey was a great addition to our birth team!
 She came highly recommended by a friend in a similar situation to our own - planned home birth, 3 year old child at home, and no family nearby to help. As a sibling doula - a role I didn’t previously realize existed - Zoey was prepared to provide her calm, warm support wherever necessary, to me as I labored or to our 3 year old daughter. It really set my mind at ease knowing we would have the help we needed at any hour of the day when the time came.

We immediately felt comfortable with Zoey during our prenatal visits and she even came along to the 36 week appointment to meet the midwifery team planning to attend our birth. Zoey was communicative, easy to reach, and helped set up a visit with her lovely back up - also a sibling doula.

During our birth, Zoey transitioned easily from playing with our toddler to giving me hands on comfort measures as contractions intensified and identified when it was time to call the midwives. Her gentle suggestions and words of encouragement helped guide me through active labor and the intensity of pushing. After our baby was born she took several sweet, candid photos, and helped prepare food, making sure everyone was safe and comfortable before departing.

She followed up with text messages throughout the first several days making sure we were doing OK, then visit a week later with soup for the family and a couple extra treats for me.

“We had an excellent experience working with Zoey for the birth of our third child. We had a difficult labor with our first child and had a doula for our second. We found Zoey on doulamatch when I was 7 weeks pregnant and are so grateful we did. Her and I texted throughout my pregnancy. I kept her in the loop on how everything was going. She was always very quick to respond. If I had any questions for her she always had answers. She came to our house for the 2 prenatal visits and she was very prepared. She helped me create a birthing plan and brought ideas that I hadn't previously considered. When my husband and I had hospital visits Zoey helped me think of questions that were pertinent to my labor. My doctor began to push for induction and Zoey gave me natural ideas for inducting labor on my own. The night I went into labor I called Zoey and she met us at the hospital. She spent about 22 hours with us and was absolutely amazing. She made me feel as comfortable as possible by bringing essential oils, helping massage my back, applying cool compresses to my forehead when needed, and encouraging me to change positions to find one that was more comfortable. Zoey was extremely supportive of me wanting to do a natural childbirth and she was very knowledgeable about how to help me. I found that with her present the nurses gave me the space I needed to labor without distractions. If we needed something in the room she would go talk to the nurses. Zoey was great at predicting what I needed when I needed it. She helped me focus on the current contraction and not look ahead and get discouraged. If I became discouraged she would motivate me to get through the current contraction before making any decisions. She also kept my husband from becoming worn out by encouraging him to drink water, eat, and gave him breaks that he wouldn't have wanted to take without her present. My husband and I definitely recommend Zoey for anyone who is in need of a doula.”

“Zoey was a lifesaver for us during the birth of our second child. I was looking for a sibling doula since we don’t have any family nearby and needed someone to care for our 5 year old son whenever I went into labor. It was important to find someone who understood the birth process, not just a nanny or a babysitter. 

Zoey was great with our son and always responsive to us when we reached out before, during and after the birth of our daughter. She took him to preschool and kept his routine the same so that we could minimize the disruptions he was already going to experience with a new sibling. We are grateful that she was there during this stressful time and would recommend her to any of our friends.”
