birth support

Consultation

Complementary interview to make sure we're a good match.

Pre-natal visits (1-2)

Discuss any questions, concerns, fears, and anything else you want to talk about concerning your birth. Also just to get to know each other before we share a sacred space for your birth. If you would like to be accompanied to the doctor as one of the visits then I would be happy to do that as well. If you would like to add more than 2 prenatal visits you can add on as many as you want for $30 / hr.

Birth Plan

We will map out all of your preferences for your birth so that it can be shared with your support team and whoever is assisting you at your birth. I will go through and explain what all of your different birth options and preferences can be. This will end up being a one page outline of how you would like your birth to go, with everything from the how you would like the birth environment to be, to interventions, to preferences on newborn care procedures.

Advocate

A huge role of a doula is to advocate for the birthing person and to make sure you are being heard by the people who are caring for you throughout your pregnancy and birth. But really it's also about helping empower you to advocate for yourself. I will give you to tools on how to advocate for yourself in the birthing setting as well as doctors visits.

Attend Labor & Birth

I will be at your side as long as you need me, whether its your first contraction or you've transitioned into active labor. I will then stay with you after you've given birth for up to two hours. After that, I think it's important for you to have time to bond with your new baby!

Emotional & Physical Support

I will be there to acknowledge and validate all of your emotions you experience during your pregnancy and birth. If you have a partner I will attend to their needs as well. You can also contact me anytime via phone for anything you want to discuss outside of our prenatal visits. During the birth, physically, I will be there to provide comforting touch, will introduce physical comfort measures, and will observe your physical cues when other help is needed.

On-Call

I will be on-call 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your "estimated due date" (EDD) I will be arrive within 2 hours from the time you call me to join you in labor. During the on-call period, I will have my phone on me at all times, day and night, for constant support (whether that be by text, phone call, or email). During the "on-call" period I always be within 2 hours of your birthing location.

Back-up

In the rare event of an emergency I have a guaranteed and trusted back-up doula that will take my place and support you during your birth. You are welcome to meet them before your EDD if that would provide you with comfort.

Postpartum Visit

A 3-6 weeks postpartum is common. Whenever you need me, I'll meet with you to see how everyone is doing. I'll make sure that you're healing physically and emotionally, ensure that breastfeeding is going well (if that's what you've chosen to do), and we can talk about how you're being supported by friends and family. If there's anything you need that is outside of the scope of my practice, I'll connect you with trusted resources that can help you.

postpartum support

Consultation

Complimentary interview to make sure we are a good match.

1 in Person Meeting

If you decide to hire me before you have had your baby, I will come meet with you/ you and your partner to come up with a postpartum plan. We will discuss concerns that may arise once your baby is home, creating a community of support, getting the baby’s room ready, and offering suggestions as needed to make everyone feel ready to welcome the new baby.

On-Call

If you have hired me before the baby arrives, I will be considered on-call so that I can be available to come support you at home or the hospital as soon as you need me once the baby arrives.

Daytime Support

If I can coming over during the day, I am around for any kind of support you may need. I love to make my families nourishing meals so it is one less thing they have to spend time thinking about. I will be available to do baby’s laundry, making sure you are getting rest, tidying up the kitchen, taking out the trash, holding your baby if you/you and your partner need time alone even if thats just to take a shower or eat a meal hands free, walking the dog, giving your other children some TLC, offering newborn care tips, providing lactation support, setting up routines, Reiki for anyone in the home needing it, the list goes on and on. I will also be there for a safe space to process feelings (as well as your partner’s feeling if needed!).

Overnight Support

In addition to everything mentioned in day time support, overnight support will involve my help through out the night. Sleep is one of the first things sacrificed when a new baby arrives so I will be there to help make getting sleep easier. It can look different based on what each individual family’s needs are. One example is myself rooming with the baby in their room and feeding them with bottles or waking you up to body feed while you get some much needed stretches of sleep. In addition to prioritizing sleep, we will process the day and discuss how everything went, and then make a plan for how you would like the evening to go each time I am there. I will also be there to suggest feeding tips, how to help baby get good sleep, and anything else that may arise for you and your family.
